Today is a new day, and you are a new creation today. Your inner man is renewed day by day, just as you can see in the words of the Apostle Paul, when he wrote:
“Therefore we do no lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet THE INWARD MAN IS BEING RENEWED DAY BY DAY.” 2 Corinthians 4:16 NKJV (emphasis mine).
As you can see, your new creation has been renewed today. Therefore, the following Scripture applies to you afresh today:
“Therefore, if anyone IS in Christ, he IS a new creation (today); old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 (emphases mine).
This means that all of your past faults and failures up until today have passed away, and they are forgotten. Shake them off from your life, because they are under the blood of Christ. If you have confessed them as sin before God, then you have been cleansed from all unrighteousness. You stand before Him spotless, pure, clean and glistening white. This is the image you should have of yourself at the beginning of each single day.
The writer of Hebrews also wrote:
“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.” Hebrews 8:12 NKJV(emphasis mine).
If God will not remember your sins and iniquities, then why should you? They are all under the blood of Christ – leave them there!
Now you can start each new day afresh with the joy and confidence of knowing who you are in Christ. In fact, purpose in your heart right now that you are going to start each day with joy, by rejoicing in the Lord all day long. As the Psalmist wrote:
“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24 NKJV.
Now it is so important, in all of your rejoicing, to make the Lord your focus. As you know, any number of circumstances can come your way to rob you of your joy. Don’t be moved by anything that might try to steal your joy. Keep your eyes firmly focused upon the Lord. He is the author and the finisher of your faith. He will get you through any situation that may come your way.
You are holy, dear saint!
Next week we will look at: The Life Of A Saint – Day Two. This will be a practical view of what the life of a saint looks like, on a day-to-day basis. It will continue for thirty-one days, and will eventually become a daily devotional. I am writing this so that you can see yourself living the life of a saint every day – for the rest of your life here on earth!
