Today is a new day, dear saint! Shake off yesterday, and embrace the new day. All the old things of yesterday have passed away, and all things have been made new. Yes, today you are a new creation in Christ, and you are holy in Him.
Start your new day, by entering into worship. As the Psalmist wrote:
“Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.” Psalm 29:2 NKJV.
See yourself standing before the throne of God in Heaven, worshiping God arrayed in the beauty of His holiness. That is who you are, and that is how you should see yourself all day long.
Yes, praise and thanksgiving and worship should fill your heart and mouth continuously throughout your day. If you learn to practice this, it will amaze you how much love, joy and peace will fill your heart. So many things that may have been a struggle for you in the past, will seem to be so much easier to handle. Try it out, and keep practicing it every day. It will transform your life!
Here is another passage of Scripture I practice every day:
“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV.
Notice that the Apostle Paul emphasized that this life of prayer and communion with God is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. God wants you to practice bringing every thought before Him all day long. Yes, I share every moment of my day with God, and you can learn to do this, as well. The more you practice it, the more it will become a natural part of your thinking process. It will become normal for you to always be in an attitude of prayer before God and share every moment of your day with Him.
As you grow in this, you will also discover that prayer is not just petitioning God for things, but a life of rejoicing in Him throughout every moment of every day. In fact, praise and thanksgiving and worship and declaring His goodness will fill your heart all day long. Yes, and with that kind of heart attitude, how easy do you think it will be to live a holy life? It will be a lot easier than you could ever imagine, if you give yourself into total abandonment in your fellowship with God. No, it won’t necessarily happen overnight, but you can grow in this area every single day. In fact, you will also discover that in time, it will make you into a powerful intercessor.
This is what the life of a saint looks like. You are holy! Next week – day four of a 31 day devotional, available soon.
